Dan Cleary, of Charlton, fell from a Ford truck around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, on Stafford Street, the Worcester County District Attorney said. He was a passenger.

Paramedics rushed Cleary to UMass Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The driver of the truck called police and remained at the scene, officials said. His name was not released.

It's unclear why Cleary fell from the truck. Charlton police and Massachusetts State Troopers are investigating the incident.

Several people have posted memorials to Dan Cleary on social media.

"We will all miss you Dan," one woman wrote on Facebook. "You are loved by so many. Rest in peace."
